WHY WE DO THIS

We are facing a global care crisis. Worldwide, more than 430 million people are already in need of care and the number is rising.
Those in need of care often suffer from preventable issues such as incontinence, pressure ulcers, falls, or dehydration. Family caregivers are neither trained nor prepared for caregiving and are usually overwhelmed by time constraints, administrative tasks, and emotional stress. All caregivers spend too much time on organization and too little with those who truly need their care.
WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE
We ensure greater health, dignity, and self-determination for those in need of care and the people who care for them.
We are developing LUNA, your Personal Digital Care Assistant as a certified medical device. Using discreet sensors worn on the body, LUNA collects care-relevant data and securely analyzes it with the help of artificial intelligence. Each person in need of care receives their very own LUNA, which stores their personal data for life in an individual data vault and can be equipped with tailored services as needed.
This ensures that those in need of care always have full control over their data and can decide who gets access to which information. During operation, LUNA continuously monitors the sensors and notifies caregivers only when necessary. This allows caregivers to act more individually, reduce unnecessary effort, and benefit from practically automated documentation. In this way, workload decreases while quality of care increases.

WHO WE DO THIS FOR

People in need of care stay healthier, as LUNA immediately alerts when help is needed. Independence and dignity is preserved for longer, since even the care recipients themselves are supported by LUNA. This addresses the two strongest wishes of most people in need of care: to stay in their own home as long as possible and to rely on others as little as possible.
Caregivers are greatly relieved: they know at all times that the person they are lovingly caring for is doing well and whether anything needs to be done. LUNA supports you in providing the right care at the right time.

Home Care
When family members care for a loved one at home without regular professional support, it is often difficult to integrate the necessary care measures into daily life. LUNA helps by monitoring the care recipient’s condition with sensors, alerting caregivers when needed, and supporting the best possible implementation of care measures. See LUNA in action here.

Outpatient Care
Families are often supported by outpatient nursing service. LUNA helps by providing up-to-date information on the care status of clients. This allows caregivers to reassess priorities throughout the day and adjust their rounds if needed. Additionally, automatic documentation saves valuable time in both post-visit reporting and planning the next rounds. This means more time for each individual in need of care.

Inpatient Care
In nursing homes, LUNA support caregivers and management in keeping track of the care status of all residents at all times and alerting them to unplanned care needs. Automated documentation also saves time here. In addition, statistical analyses help improve care processes and support needs-based capacity planning.
ONE LUNA, MANY USE cases
Each LUNA comes with individually customizable features and sensors that can be configured according to your needs.

LUNA as Incontinence Manager
A special reusable sensor, which can be attached externally to any standard incontinence product, continuously measures its fill level.
If action is needed for a change, a corresponding notification is sent.
During a change, additional information, such as skin condition, can be easily recorded via the app. Care documentation is further supported, for example, by automatically capturing micturition logs.
The prediction of time windows for the next micturition enables personalized continence training.
Finally, statistical analyses make it easy to monitor progress over time.

LUNA as Pressure Ulcer Manager
A body-worn motion sensor records all macro- and micro-movements of the care recipient. Using this information, LUNA determines the current risk of pressure ulcers and notifies caregivers when necessary, allowing them to implement appropriate movement-promoting or pressure-relieving measures.
Additionally, at-risk or affected areas of skin can be documented in the app. Statistics on movement patterns and the progression of the condition support the individualized adjustment of preventive measures.

LUNA as Fall and Emergency Manager
LUNA detects typical movement patterns such as standing up, walking, sitting down, lying down, climbing stairs, and more. If needed, gait analysis can determine day-to-day stability. Using all this information, LUNA assesses the current risk of falls and notifies caregivers when individually adjustable thresholds are reached. If a fall does occur, LUNA immediately detects it and triggers a predefined notification cascade.
